The Captor of Lisera

Ulfgar alone succeeded where his forebears failed: he captured Lisera, the only Tiorian Lightweaver in MirMarnia.
By stealing the constellation gems from her wings, he forced her into human form, silenced her voice, and bound her as his wife.
Their union produced Simi, a son who inherited Ulfgar’s berserker rage and Lisera’s lethal instinct, but none of her magic.

Life in the Sentinel Forest

Ulfgar and his berserker followers dwelt in the deepest reaches of the forest, on the Emaris mountain.
From there, they raided the farmsteads of rival clans, spreading terror and resentment throughout the region.
His household was marked by silence: Lisera mute in her captivity, Simi raised in shadow, and Nix, the second son, born of another union, scorned and abused.

The Winter Duel

When Simi came of age, he discovered the truth of his mother’s captivity.
At dawn on a winter morning, beneath the bare trees of the Sentinel Forest, father and son clashed in a brutal sword fight.
Simi’s berserker rage overcame Ulfgar’s experience, and with his father’s death, the constellation gems returned to Lisera.
Freed at last, she transformed once more into her true Lightweaver form: blue-skinned, rune-marked, winged, and radiant with restored constellations. Her voice returned with her transformation.

Death & Aftermath

Ulfgar’s body was left unburied in the forest, abandoned to wolves and carrion birds.
When word spread of his death, the clans were both shocked and relieved; his reign of terror ended, his name destined to linger as a warning.
His stronghold in the Sentinel Forest stands empty, a place even the bravest avoid
